Everyone has experienced a bout of “the blues” at some point. But clinical depression, which affects 19 million Americans each year, can often mean years of feeling helpless, hopeless and sad. Many are helped by antidepressant medications, but what are the alternatives when medications don’t work? A new non-drug therapy is now being tested at Emory.


This VNR features a patient who has suffered from depression for a number of years and is exploring other alternatives because medications didn’t work for her. She recently enrolled in the TMS study at Emory.
